Fishing is one of the most relaxing and natural experiences. You can do it alone, take a fellow angler, or teach your kids the ropes like your father taught you. Whether you want to fish competitively or are in it for just the fun, the equipment, the technique, and the timing matters a lot. This is especially true for bass fishing.
At CERALand, we see several enthusiastic anglers, both amateurs and professionals; visit the park for bass finishing. Our Lake Lucille has a variety of fish, including bass and you don’t need a license to fish here. Here are some tips for beginners:
Know When to Fish
Bass are particularly difficult to catch because the conditions must be just right to catch them. Consider the following:
The best time to catch bass is during the Spring or Summer.
Bass will feed closer to the shore during cooler temperatures in the morning.
Conversely, it’ll move to open water when the water is warmer later in the day.
It’s better to cast your bait in specific areas near the bottom, by the vegetation, trees, etc.
Use the Right Bait
Catching bass is tricky if you don’t have the right bait. The right bait depends on where you’re fishing and how you want to fish. These baits work well at our campground.
Crankbaits are ideal for an area with shallow water, some light vegetation, bushes, grass, and rocky bottoms.
Spinner baits are great in windy or cloudy conditions where you want to move quickly. It’s a good idea to use faster baits in clear water and slower ones in muddy waters.
Topwater lures are great for shallow water as they sit on the surface. You’ll need to choose bait that causes a lot of noise and splatter. That’ll attract the bass’ attention.
If you want to fish from a short distance, the Jigs are good baits. They’re best used near the docks or piers and are great for slow fishing.
You can get all the right live baits, line, and other supplies at the CERAland store. All you need to do it observe the size and number limitations and enjoy bass finishing.
